At the time operated by F 7 at Såtenäs, this early Viggen ended up on the dump at Ängelholm after instructional use in F 10 marks. The AJ37 was a single-seat ground-attack fighter aircraft, with a secondary fighter role, many undergoing electronic upgrades around 1992 to AJS37 in order to carry Sidewinder missiles. Most decommissioned by 1998

The unique Falcon 30 demonstrator appearing at the 1974 SBAC show. In the mid sixties, Dassualt had plans to scale up the Mystère 20 design to carry 32 - 40 passengers and Eastern Airlines even expressed an interest in buying between 20 and 40 examples. The project was abandoned in 1975 thanks to high engine noise and the oil crisis, but the airframe is preserved at Bordeaux-Merignac

Making the first ever appearance of an Airbus at Farnborough, this was only the fourth aircraft to be built by the new consortium. To Air Inter in 1.77 and damaged beyond repair at Montpellier 24.3.93 after hitting pylon during pushback. Later stored at Chateauroux, still in Air Inter colours

This Meteor was part of the last batch of seven to be built and served the RAE for continuation and instrument training, being repainted in this scheme towards the end of its career. Crashed not long after this photo, near to the tower at Farnborough after losing control during an asymmetric overshoot, on 14th February, 1975

This 1959-build 707 was acquired from Pan Am in 1971 and broken up at Dan-Air's Lasham maintenance base in November 1981

Andrews AFB was home to many interesting prop aircraft in the mid-1970's

This Convairliner was originally delivered to Scandinavian Airlines April 24, 1956 as OY-KPA, christened "Hans Viking". Passed on to Lynjeflyg in 1969, it came to Great Lakes as they commenced an expansion with Convair 440s in 1973. Exported to the USA in 1977 as the airline upgraded to the Convair 580. It was flying freight with Island Air Hawaii as N21DR when it suffered an engine failure on take off from Honolulu and was forced to ditch in Pearl Harbor Channel January 17, 1982.

This 707 was originally delivered to American Airlines August 24, 1959 as N7519A christened "Flagship Kentucky". Sold to Transavia March 1972, they operated it, including a couple of leases to Royal Air Maroc and Saudia Arabian Airlines before selling the jetliner to Guy American Airways in April 1982. Also doing business as American Overseas Airways, it was registered N519GA but was sold back to Boeing a year later as noise regulations were getting more strict and Boeing was in the market for parts in the KC-135E program. It was flown to Davis Monthan and broken up for parts.

Delivered to BOAC in 1960 and seen here in new titles shortly after the merger to form British Airways. Preserved at the Franklin Institue Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1978, the aircraft was unfortunately broken up in 1988 due to lack of space.

Coming to Transair April 1973 via Fairchild Hiller (N286FH), this F-28 was sold in 1979 as they merged with Pacific Western Airlines. Going to Air Niugini as P2-ANF, it's last flight was February 9, 2004. Donated to Aviation Australia, the airliner was ferried to Brisbane to become VH-XNG for use as an apprentice trainer. This is a different aircraft than C-FTAY that was operated by Canadian Regional and Canadian North (c/n 11084).

The DC-7B is being disassembled adjacent to Marine Air Terminal. It was sold to an audio company and moved to a shopping mall parking lot in Hicksville, NY where it was partially reassembled and painted black. "Fly By Nite Audio" titles were added and stairs were positioned at the front and back doors to allow customers to walk through. The store went out of business shortly afterwards and the aircraft was scrapped on site.

Originally deliverd to the RCAF as the last of 10 CL-66Bs with Napier Eland turboprobs as 11160 and converted to CV-580 equivalent specification with Allison engines in 1967. Operated by 412 Sqn and re-serialled in 1970, the Cosmos were regular visitors to Gatwick from the CAF base at Lahr. Sold as C-GNCM in 1996 and stored ever since at Saskatoon
