1939: TOS USAAC. 1945: Purchased by an unknown aircraft dealer, registered NC62477. Over the years through several owners it was used to haul cargo, for oil exploration, and agricultural spraying. October/58: Roger Stedman, Miami, FL; sold it to Cuban revolutionaries who were caught using it for gun-running from Florida. November/58: Impounded in Miami. December/60: Stored at Cannon AFB, NM. January/61: F. Daniel Bennett, who sold it to the Air Force Museum. 1980: Flown by C-5A to Cannon AFB for display. August/88: C-5A ride to Lowry AFB, CO for the Wings Over the Rockies Museum. Restored as 39-522.

Slide scan from the NK collection. - Atlantis operated three new DC-9's between 1970 and October 1972, when the airline had to suspend operations. Together with a sistership, D-ADIT was acquired by North Central Airlines and finished its days at Marana, AZ in ex Northwest colours in the year 2005.

slide scan from the NK collection. - This ex-United Caravelle was the only one of the type that BIAS ever operated, for one year only between 1971 and 1972. After follow-on services with Air Touring and Catair, the Caravelle was withdrawn at Le Bourget in 1975.

slide scan from the NK collection. - Delivered to Court Line in 1971, G-AYOP left their fleet again at the end of 1972. It retained its registration and continued to fly for various British operators for nearly 30 years before being sold to Savannah Airlines of Nigeria.

Originally delivered to the US Navy as 138203.

In 1972 British Midland Airways bought the entire South African Airways Viscount fleet including spare parts and a simulator. This is the former ZS-CDZ captured at then Jan Smuts International still in the basic SAA livery but without titles. It carries the registration G-AZLW. This registration was reserved but not taken. ZS-CDZ became G-AZNC. G-AZLW was a former Aerolinas Argentinas Comet 4 that Dan-Air bought for spares.

slide scan from the NK collection. - From 1971 till 1978, Delta Air Transport brought seven DC-6Bs onto the Belgian register, and this aircraft here is the last of those that is still active at the time of upload - as N444CE with Everts Air Fuel in Alaska.

slide scan from the NK collection. - Atlantis operated DC-8's and DC-9's in these nice colours, but had to suspend all flights in October 1972. Two of the three DC-9's were sold to North Central and one (D-ADIU) to Inex Adria Airways. - D-ADIS finished its career as N942N with Northwest at Opa Locka FL in 2007.

Photo from the late Jim Millar taken at the prewar airstrip at Wabag. VH-MAB moved to the Papua New Guinea register as P2-MAB in May 1974 and was later reregistered P2-ANX. The airstrip at Wabag was approved for DC-3 operations in 1956 but has since closed. Air services now use Wapenamanda Airport .
