Probably attached to the US Embassy. Fate unknown but it is not the C-45 with this serial on static display at Tergnier, France nor the Beech 18 ZK-TEX painted as 44-47506. The captured German cruiser Prinz Eugen sailed to the USA in 1946 with two Ar 196s on board. The ship's catapult was installed at Mustin Field and some test launches were carried out with spurious markings painted on this aircraft. These were simply copied from an old publicity photo of Ar 196A-4 GA-DX, c/n 0124. This airframe, really an Ar 196A-5 built by Fokker in Amsterdam, is currently in National Air and Space Museum custody for possible restoration. The other Ar 196 from Prinz Eugen is now back in Germany, at Nordholz.
