The last thing I wanted on a trip to Willow Run was rain. But that's what I got, and lots of it too! This aircraft was re-reg N460RC in Dec 83. Retired around the early 90s.

My thanks to the late John Hopton for the loan of his negative of VH-TVB while leased to Ansett-ANA from July 1962 to August 1962 before eventual sale to Ansett-ANA in October 1962 and re-registered as VH-RMQ.

I once flew ABZ-BHX on it back in June 1978 when it was with British Airways. Ended up in Africa as 3C-PBH, 3D-JAP and, alstly, 9Q-CON. Noted stored Kinshasa in 2007 and being broken up in 2008.

Delivered new to Air Rhodesia as VP-YNB 17th May 1957. Re-registered Z-YNB Oct 1983 when the airline changed into Air Zimbabwe. Stored Harare from Dec 1985 and cannibalized for spares. Completely scrapped by Jan 2000

With Trans Canada Airlines / Air Canada February 1959 until withdrawn in October 1971, this Viscount was sold to United Aircraft of Canada in 1972. Modified to test the company's larger PT6-50 engine mounted on the nose , the aircraft tested other versions of the PT-6 between 1977 - 89. Donated to École nationale d'aérotechnique in Saint-Hubert, QC, it was used as an instructional airframe until loaned to Fondation Aérovision Québec in 1994. Moved by road to the Institut de Protection Contre les Incendies du Québec, it's used for fire and rescue training at the time of uploading. It still carries the faded remains of "Sphinx Air" titles which were applied in 1999 for use in a movie. On the other side it also has fake registration N6225C.
