Lots of work was done to modify the prop adjustment on the Aviodrome Constellation. On this afternoon the engines were started to perform a series of tests.

One of an excellent series of photos Qantas took of VH-EAD over Sydney and along Sydney's coast. This photo off Box Head, Broken Bay. -EAD was built as an L1049E in 1955 and was upgraded firstly with weather radar and then turned into a Super G with tip tanks. Sold in the US as N9721C in 1960.

"Flagship Copenhagen" served AOA from delivery in March 1946 until sale to Pan American in September 1950. Later XA-MAG and PP-PDP. From AOA 60 years ago.

This aircraft is the former famous C-121A warbird N494TW (ex USAF 48-609), which was bought by Pratt & Whitney and donated to Korean Air. It departed Avra Valley, AZ on 01 Apr 2005 on delivery to Busan-Gimhae, South Korea. The route flown was Tucson - Oakland - Anchorage - Cold Bay - Hakodate (Japan) - Inchon (South Korea) - Busan (South Korea). On 18 Apr 2005 it flew its last flight ever, to Jeongseok on Jeju Island. The Constellation is now preserved at the Korean Air Flight Academy airfield and painted in the colours of Air Korea with registration HL4003. The real HL4003 was an L-1649A(F) Starliner, c/n 1037.

Qantas did Super Constellation crew training at the quiet rural airport at Narromine. VH-EAM, the prototype L-1049H, was sold in the US as N7776C in July 1962

Served Air France 1948 until 1960. Modified later to L-749A and fitted out as 65-seater for European services. To SGAC in SAR configuration with call sign F-SSFP. Scrapped in 1973. From Air France 60 years ago.

This 049 Constellation was delivered to TWA on 19 February 1946 and was later named "Star of Tripoli". Converted from first class to coach in 1953. Total time at May 1959 41,203 hours. Sold to Las Vegas Hacienda in May 1961. From TWA 60 years ago.
