This photo was taken by my Father. Behind is a Trans Mediterranean Airways DC-4 (tail number not readable) and OO-SDG a SABENA DC-6A (which I photographed at Brussels in August 1963).

Photo taken by my father circa 1956. He was about to board it on his way home to Brussels. I think the flight possibly routed via Madrid.

This four engine Farman was initially ordered by Air France and requisitioned by French air force at the begining of WW2. It crashed into the Mediterranean Sea while on a flight from Marseille to Damascus. On board was the newly-appointed Vichy High Commissioner to Lebanon and Syria, M. J. Chiappe, his secretary and 5 crew members including the two famous French pilots H.Guillaumet & M.Reine; The airplane was hit by machine-gun fire in battle zone of Cape Spartivento involving British and Italian naval ships.
