In addition to their military FAE serial, all militairy C-47s in Ecuador also carried a civil HC-AUx registration. However, this one seems to have lost its military serial, and the civil reg looks more like H6-AUT. Now preserved at the airforce museum at the old airport in Quito.

Formerly Air Atlantique's G-AMSV. Became N347DK in Feb 2008, and initially stored at Coventry, as seen here. Flown to Dublin-Weston in Nov 2009, but in Jun 2011 it returned to the UK, to Kemble, where a restoration was started for the Indian Air Force Vintage Flight. Reverted to G-AMSV in Sep 2014, and flown back to Coventry in May 2015. Painted in Indian Air Force markings, initially as KN397, its original serial. But in 2018 it was allocated official Indian Air Force serial VP905 (previously carried by C-47A c/n 12581) and named Parashurama. On 17 Apr 2018 it departed Coventry as such, on delivery to India.

G-AMRA, adorned with ClassicFlight.com titles, is receiving some tender loving care in the Air Atlantique Classic Flight hangar. On 30 Jul 2013 this DC-3, operated by Air Atlantique since 1981, departed Coventry for the last time, on delivery to new owner Air Service Berlin. It was intended as the replacement for their first DC-3 D-CXXX (c/n 32872) which had crashlanded in Jun 2010. By May 2014 G-AMRA was still in basic Air Atlantique colours but now with registration D-CXXX applied. However, in 2019 the entire project was suddenly abandoned and this lovely DC-3 was offered for sale or scrap.

Operating for Air Atlantique since 1982. Became part of the Air Atlantique Historic Flight (later Air Atlantique Classic Flight) circa 2003, and was painted in its original Royal Air Force Transport Command markings as KK116 in 2005. By 2010 it was part of Coventry's Airbase museum, and it was still there by April 2018.

At the time this strikingly painted DC-3 was operated by owner Air Atlantique for Thales Avionics Ltd, serving as a testbed for the Searchwater 2000 MR radar for the Nimrod 2000 project. It was withdrawn from use on 19 Oct 2010 and the big radome was removed in early 2012. The aircraft became part of Mike Collett's Airbase Museum and it was still at Coventry by April 2018.

Preserved on the new Aeropark site. Ex 206/Hungarian AF.

Groundlooped on take-off from Albuquerque, NM in Jul 1991, and stored there until dismantled and transported to Duff Aircraft's salvage yard in Denver, CO in 2004/2005. Fuselage noted there in 2008 and 2010. Registration cancelled in 2017.

Ex Continental Air Services. Returned to the United States. Registration cancelled in 1979.

The Australian navy's second Dakota, ex RAAF and yet to receive its navy serial N2-23. VJ-ORB is a radio call sign. At the time military aircraft in Australia used civil call signs, the VJ prefix being navy and VM- the RAAF. This aircraft crashed in the Waddenzee, Netherlands on September 25th, 1996 with the loss of 32 lives.

This side only shows the ANA logo on the rudder, but the left side still carried full "Australian National Airways" titles and also the faint traces of the fake registration VH-ANA for film work.

Built as a C-53. Participated in Operation Market Garden in September 1944 as a glider tug. Postwar converted to a DC-3A with an airstair passenger door on the starboard side of the cabin. Seized by the Drug Enforcement Administration in 1982. To the USAF Museum and loaned to the Aerospace Museum of California at Sacramento. Displayed in WW2 invasion stripes but retains the civil airstair door.

Crashed at New Smyrna Beach, Florida, on August 1, 1980. Pilot not qualified on type, had no copilot and a blood alcohol level of 0.15%.
