Ex USAAF 44-76551 and RAAF A65-90. One of four C-47s operated by the RAN. Served 851 Sqdn and used during one of the Queen's visit to Australia. Joined the RAN Historic Flight as VH-NVZ in 1985 but grounded in 2015 due to corrosion.

This poor old C-47 is seen here missing a few critical flying parts. Rumour going around that it was to face the axe but has since been saved at the last minute for a static display at a yet to be announced museum.

The Australian navy's second Dakota, ex RAAF and yet to receive its navy serial N2-23. VJ-ORB is a radio call sign. At the time military aircraft in Australia used civil call signs, the VJ prefix being navy and VM- the RAAF. This is an ex RNZAF aircraft NZ1485 and was ZK-DAM before coming to Australia in 1986. It was loaned to the Fleet Air Arm Museum and painted to represent Australian navy aircraft A17-692. The real A17-692 is at the RAAF Museum Point Cook with the civil rego VH-AWA. VH-NVT later repainted in its correct RNZAF markings. Crashed into the sea off Fraser Island, Queensland.
