Although registered in Malawi to Air Malawi, 7Q-YDL was extensively used by Air Rhodesia on internal services, with and without titles as she is seen here at Victoria Falls in November 1977. After the two Viscounts "Hunyani" and "Umniati" were shot down by hand-held missiles in 1978 and 1979, the polished metal and black surfaces were painted in anti-missile grey.

In April 1973 three Boeing 720s made their way to Rhodesia, circumventing the UN sanctions against the country. VP-YNM was one of these aircraft seen here at Salisbury a few months after arriving with sisterships YNL and YNN after Air Rhodesia clandestinely acquired three of Calair's five 720s. It started its service life with Eastern Air Lines in August 1961. In December 1970 it joined the fleet of short-lived German charter airline Calair.

First flown 5 May 1956 and delivered to Central African Airways 17 May. When the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland was dissolved and Malawi and Zambia gained independence, CAA became a holding company and the Viscounts operated with nameplates for the new airlines; Air Malawi, Air Rhodesia, and Zambia Airways. To Air Malawi as 7Q-YKO 1 January 1968, 1 January 1968 to Air Rhodesia as VP-YKB, to Air Zimbabwe Rhodesia June 1979, name changed to Air Zimbabwe February 1980. Re-registered Z-YNB October 1983. Withdrawn from use at Harare in December 1985 and broken up by 2000. Seen here at Kariba with the interchangeable plates on the tail operating an Air Rhodesia service to Salisbury.
