After the two Viscounts "Hunyani" and "Umniati" were shot down by hand-held missiles in 1978 and 1979, the polished metal and black surfaces were painted in anti-missile grey.

The second last DC-6 built and delivered to JAT as YU-AFA, then the Yugoslav Air Force as Marshall Tito's personal plane. It was gifted to Zambia as GBM-110 in 1975. Joining NCA in the mid-nineties, it is current with Red Bull.

Although in Air Malawi livery, 7Q-YDL was often seen operating domestic Rhodesian services on behalf of Air Rhodesia.
