Retired and donated to fire training 1984. As the Rhodesian Bush War was in its final phases, the name of the country was changed to Zimbabwe Rhodesia in June 1979. Air Rhodesia changed its name to Air Zimbabwe Rhodesia still in Air Rhodesia's low visibility, anti-missile colour scheme. The Hunyani was shot down by a heat-seeking missile on depature from Kariba operating RH825 on 3 September 1978. Here seen ten years earlier at the then Jan Smuts International in Johannesburg.
