At that time any wide body that didn't visit Heathrow was exotic for me, so happy to have caught this gorgeous Classic.

PH-MBP looms out the smoggy haze hanging over Kai Tak. It was sold to the Dutch air force in 1995.

Qantas leased PH-MBT for three months from December 1987 to cover a capacity shortfall over the peak Christmas-New Year holiday period. It was all economy. Denpasar and Singapore services flown.

Delivered as a Convair 440 to Swissair as HB-IMC in June 1956. Bought by Martinair in October 1966 and converted to CV640 in February 1967. Sold as N640R in September 1971. Seen taxying away from Schiphol Oost.

Appropriately named "Toronto", this Jet Trader was delivered new to ONA as N852F. Later regns include EC-DEM, C-FDWW and N6161C.

Operated by Martinair from new in 3.84 till 9.92, this Airbus joined the ranks of the many undergoing freighter conversion and was delivered from Hamburg-XFW to FedEx after SCD fitment as N423FE in 3.96, stored VCV 11.15

This aircraft had previously been OO-AMI with Pomair. It had previously carried the PH-DCA registration and is seen here in basic Pomair livery with Martinair titles.

Inspired by reading Martinair's early history in Propliner, I decided to squeeze what quality I could out of this slide, one of my first ever (and unfortunately not Kodachrome). A familiar sight at Southend after conversion from Cv-340 in 4.66, it's good to see she was still alive and well, stored by C&M Airways at El Paso as N640CM in the late 2000s
