I'd wanted to see this bird ever since I found out she was based nearby, and now I seem to run into her at every show I go to. Ex-RAF XX540, as marked, displayed at the show with the CAF Buckeye Wing and visiting from her base at Marysville, OH (MRT).

Built in 1947 and served in the Spanish Air Force from 1948 to 1977 with registration T.2-142 in 1948 and later T.2B-142. Sold as N9012N in 1978. Its last flight was on 12 December 1983, when it landed in Dublin en route from Spain to the USA. Engine problems kept it there, and it was blown over by a storm, damaging another aircraft. Since the mid-1980s it has been in Sweden, currently as an exhibit in the Svedinos Museum painted in fictitious Luftwaffe colours.

The Indonesian AF Museum is close to the end of the runway at Adisutjipto airport so the busy resident flying school provides lots of aerial activity as the students pound the circuit. The TNI-AU's Skadron Pendidikan 102 have received 17 KT-1s in three batches, seven between 2002 and 2005, five in 2007/8 and seven assembled at Bandung between 2012 and 2014. Four have been lost in accidents. Note the badge and team number of the IAF 'Jupiter' aerobatic team on tail.

Delivered earlier in 1984. Crashed on landing at Goose Bay, Canada due to loss of flap control a few weeks after this photo was taken. Crew ejected successfully.

On delivery to the Indonesian Air Force with PT-ZOG / TT-3110, PT-ZON / TT-3114, and PT-ZOU / TT-3116.

Registered in July 2001.

Seen preserved at the National Museum of Flight in East Fortune near Edinburgh, Scotland. Captured at Husum in 1945 and moved to Farnborough and given UK military serial AM219. To Cranfield in 1947. To Cambridge in 1975 for refurbishment then to Royal Scottish Museum of flight in 1976 for display.

Delivered new to the TNI-AU in December 1979 in a grey / white livery, becoming the 1st C-130H operated by the Indonesian AF. Two more (A-1316, c/n 4840 and A-1323, c/n 4899) followed, while a single C-130H-MP (Maritime Patrol) serialled AI-1322 (c/n 4898) joined the fleet in late 1981. It was not until 2015 that more C-130H's followed, when nine ex RAAF C-130H's (becoming A-1330 through A-1338) were taken on strength, a process completed by February 2020. A-1315 shown here has since been assigned to Skuadron Udara 33, the TNI-AU's 3rd Hercules squadron based at and operating out of Makassar.

In store awaiting rework. This aircraft was written off 9 May 1990 in the sea off San Diego.

Part of the Cranfield College of Aeronautics "Library of Flight" on a rare external display as part of the Cranfield Pageant which followed on the back of the Business & Light Aviation Show. Acquired May 1947, ex-Luftwaffe II/JG400. Passed to the National Museum of Flight at East Fortune, Scotland in 1976 and still on display there in 2023.
