Federal Express bought six 727s from United Airlines in December 1997. Christened Nicole, this was the first one delivered on January 11, 1978 . Finally withdrawn in December 2002 the aircraft was later broken up. Federal Express chose to re-use the registration on the carrier's first 767-3S2F delivered from Boeing on September 5, 2013.
