The aircraft was lost on October 9, 1986 at Dakar, Senegal. Taking off to spray for locusts, a fire warning for number 4 engine came on. Shutting the engine down and feathering the propeller, the aircraft lost altitude and ditched in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast.

A VA-42 "Green Rook" on the rudder, but other squadron markings are missing. The aircraft was retired and stored at MASDEC on Apr 14, 1994. It is on display since 2000 in front of the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support building in Philadelphia, PA, on loan from National Naval Aviation Museum.

It is on display since 2000 in front of the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support building in Philadelphia, PA, on loan from National Naval Aviation Museum.

This 1957 Beaver flew for Pacific Western Airlines in the 60s . After service with West Coast Air Services and Northern Mountain Airlines, the floatplane was with Northern Thunderbird Air when it was salvaged after an accident in August 1976. Pictured getting final work after a rebuild, it would get modifications with Advanced Wing Technologies' wings and an aft cabin extension in 2001. After a landing accident in May 2016, Avionnerie Valdor of Val d'Or, QC (owner of the Advanced Wings STCs since 2004) bought the aircraft for re-build. It was put back on the Canadian Registry in July 2019.
