The best spot to take wonderful photos is right between runways 05L and 05R

First flown 14 June 1956 and delivered to Central African Airways 1 July after having the distinction of being the first Viscount to visit the USSR 29 Junel. When the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland was dissolved and Malawi and Zambia gained independence, CAA became a holding company and the Viscounts operated with nameplates for the new airlines; Air Malawi, Air Rhodesia, and Zambia Airways. To Air Rhodesia as 1 January 1968. Shot down by a surface-to-air missile shortly after departing Kariba for Salisbury as RH827 12 February 1979. All 59 on board perished. In May 1976 the Sudan Government ordered, (I believe), 20 Thrush Commanders for Crop Protection (Sudan). In the event, 15 were supplied. They were shipped to Rotterdam docks, assembled at Rotterdam Airport & flown to Southend for attention by ADS (Aerial). The first 4, N4879X-'82X, were flown to Southend in US marks on 30 June & 1 July 1976. N4883X set out on 4 July, returned due overheating & finally delivered on 12 Sept. The final 10, ST-AGB-'K, were given Sudan marks at Rotterdam & flown to Southend on 11 & 12 July. They then flew to Sudan. ST-AGC was ex-N8437V. Crashed 27 March 1978.

Delivered to Saudia as HZ-AIN in 1985. Withdrawn from use at Jeddah in 2012 and scrapped in 2016.

Helicopter originally wore code 67 yellow, but this was overpainted and now only holds a paper sheet with the code 67 on it.

Delivered to Garuda as PK-GAJ in 1982. Withdrawn from use at Jakarta-CGK in 1999 and scrapped in 2000.

First flown at Hurn 17 September 1958, delivered to SAA as ZS-CDT 26 October. Ca 1962 repainted in the first orange tail livery first introduced with the 707s in 1960. September 1971 retired and stored at JNB. To British Midland January 1972 as G-AZLP, leased to Air Anglia 1973. Donated to the CAA Fire Training School June 1986. To North East Aircraft Museum June 2008, November 2013 to Brooklands Museum. Seen here with Westland Wessex HAS.3 XM833 which is now on display at the South Wales Aircraft Museum.

Delivered to Garuda as PK-GKK in 1981. To Merpati in 1991 and reregistered as PK-MGT in 1996. Damaged beyond repair when it overran the runway at Kendari white attempting an aborted takeoff in 1998. Registered to Dodson International Parts as N6004U who broke it up for parts. Remains still there in 2024.
