The Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team operated this aircraft and the registration of N1R was also used with its replacement aircraft a Lockheed Electra. It went to Aviaco in May 1961 as EC-AQK later registered to Fuerza Aerea Boliviano as TAM-45. Subsequently written-off 24 January 1978 at San Ramon.
This 318 was delivered to Mexicana in January 2005. After the airline's demise it was stored at Pinal Air Park (MZJ) in September 2010 until April 2011 when it was ferried to Bogota to join Avianca as N594EL where it is still current.
Ordered by Qantas 1 April 1958 as VH-ECD. Leased to Air New Zealand as ZK-TED. Sold to Nomads Inc as N836E on 21 April 1971. Sold to Mandala as PK-RLG and was written off at Medan on 30 November 1985 with nil fatalities after starboard wheels fell off in flight.
