This former Israeli Defence Force C-47B, 016 / 4X-FNN, was sold to Global Aviation Inc and flown to Canada in 2001. The Douglas became a warbird in the USA when it was sold in 2007 to the Gooney Bird Group. In three years time the aircraft was restored by the group in Paso Robles (CA) and painted in its former original USAAF colours and serial 43-48608.

Imported for Transair from Linee Aeree Italiane where it was I-LILI and later flew with Jersey Airlines and Morton Air Services. Exported to the USA in 1969 as N4848 and cancelled as scrapped on 10 December 1970.

Ex-Spanish Air Force, with its Spanish roundel painted over, but former serial T3-45 and code "744-45" still clearly visible. This was one of six ex-Spanish C-47s at Blackbushe in June 1978, all with G- civil registrations, being disposed of onto the civil market.

C-47 44-76821 was delivered to the Royal Air Force May 1945 as KN547. Returned to the USAF in 1955, the aircraft went to the German Air Force in 1956. To the Swedish Air Force in 1975, it was struck off strength in May 1984. It had been with the Swedish Air Force Museum at Malmen Airbase since 1982 before traded for Spitfire PR Mk. XIX PM627 in the USA. The aircraft is pictured enroute to new owner Military Aircraft Restoration to be registered N5467Y. Sold as N56V in 1996, it has been preserved at the Tillamook Air Museum (Later moved to the Erickson Aircraft Collection in Madras OR).

Later flew with Mercury Airlines and South Coast Air Service before acquisition by Aces High at North Weald (EGSX)..

Having served in East Africa since it was delivered to East African Airways in 1952, this Dakota later served with Caspair, Sunbird and Airkenya. It was written off in an accident at Maasai Mara National Reserve in February 1992 and broken up there during 1993. Photographer unknown

Ex KN566, 44-76853. Registration cancelled on 14 February 1965 on sale to Norway as LN-RTO, and restored as G-AMPO on 17 June 1969. Registration cancelled on 18 October 2001 as permanently withdrawn from use, and later presented to the Royal Logistics Corps for display (painted as as FZ626) at RAF Lyneham. It has was moved to RAF Brize Norton for display in 2011.

Wenela Air Services started life as Africair and was set up to transport migrant mine workers to the gold mines of the (then) Transvaal in South Africa. WNLA (pronounced Wenela) was the Witwatersrand Native Labour Association. The airline operated from 1952 to the mid 1970s. ex. 43-48552, KJ874.( R.A.F. units: 108 OTU,271 Sqd,77 Sqd. ) Loaned to Smiths by the M.O.S. in 1953. It was used on a ministry contract to develop a version of SEP2 (mk 10) Autopilot. Broken up for spares in March 1964.
