Built in 1958 for South African and back to the UK in 1972 for British Midland Airlines. It was subleased twice to Manx and later to LAR - Ligações Aéreas Regionais, and BAF British Air Ferries. Preserved from 1992 at Dancing Kokoriko club near Zomergen Belgium.

An interesting day, albeit with atrocious weather, at Gatwick with several extra flights for a W. Germany-England football match (Germany won) including Aviaction F28s and Modern Air CV990s. This Bavaria 1-11, wearing a registration later re-used on a DC-9, was originally intended for Channel Airways in 1968 but joined the German airline in April.69. Sold as DQ-FCR in February.78 and scrapped in 1981
