After being put into storage at the MASDC facility at Davis Monthan AZ in 1977 this F-100F (56-3812) was taken out of storage in April 1990 and converted into a QF-100F to serve as a target practice over the Gulf of Mexico. After little more than a year the aircraft returned to AMARC and eventualy became the property of the USAF National Museum. This organisation loaned the Super Sabre to the town of Duncan in the early 2000s who put the aircraft on display in the Veterans Park in the town.

Being at the right place at the right time and being able to capture the moment is a real gem for an aviation enthusiast like myself. Neptune Aviation Services P-2 N443NA was about to depart when we arrived at Phoenix Gateway Airport. Standing next to the fence we were noted by the ground crew who allowed us to have a closer look during start up and taxi of the Neptune The result of which was a nice series of pictures and a fantastic up close and personal experience of a Neptune in motion.
