Entered service in 1951 and the last flight was when it was ferried to the Manston Fire School from 23 MU at Aldergrove in 1976. All gone by 1981.
This release is the last of the McIntyre Collection photos in a process that started about one year ago. I am now on a quest to find out what happened to this person.

Here on delivery and it flew with United until sold to Sterling in 1972 as OY-SBV. In 1974 it went to the Mauritania government and scrapped as 5T-RIM at Dakar (GOOY) in 1992. (Note the three ramp workers seemingly embarrassed while a 'suit' gets into the act and gives the departing jet the thumbs-up.)

Built in 1943 and served with both the USAAF and US Navy. Here it is en route from Pakistan to the USA and was scrapped when N9900Z at Miami (KMIA) in 1978. During the 1950's and 1960's, the US government was applying a policy of containment towards communist influence in certain regions of the world. As part of this, the US Army Corps of Engineers was building military infrastructure in friendly countries. OFW became one of their majors contractors so they likely had a project in Pakistan. They also operated Aero Commander 680 N6854S.
