This Mad Dog was originally delivered in October 1987 to Spantax (Guiness Peat, hence the subsequent use of its Irish reg.) as EC-EFJ (EC-102) and then to LAC (as EI-BWD) and BWIA (9Y-THT) before joining TWA and becoming the special 'Wings of Pride' logojet. Its last revenue flight for American was during Feb. 2014 before being banished to Roswell, so it's really great that the TWA Museum has saved this piece of airline history from the axeman.

This Vulcan was delivered to the RAF in March 1963 and, after retirement, ferried to the Strategic Air Command Museum at Offut AFB in Omaha in June 1982. In 1997, XM573 was moved thirty miles down the road to be ready for the opening of the brand new Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum at Ashland. On the night of 11th Feb. 1941, 79 Wellingtons. Whitleys and Hampdens set off to bomb Bremen and, of these, only 27 claimed to have reached the target. On the return 22 aircraft were lost when thick fog blanketed their home bases making navigation very difficult. Whitley V P5013 from 51 Sqn. at Dishforth got lost and the crew parachuted to safety, with the aircraft finally coming down near Hatfield, East of Doncaster. This Merlin X Single Stage engine was recovered at the crash site from 18ft of clay in 1987 and is now on display at the South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum/Aeroventure.

This Tu-124 was delivered around August 1963 and retired as life-time expired in April 1981 and then preserved in the Central Museum of the Air Forces at Monino. Unfortunately, the cabin was badly damaged by fire in 2002 and at the time of this picture temporary protective sheeting had been used to cover the damaged fuselage.

This aircraft was built in February 1939 at Santa Monica and delivered to Eastern as NC21744. it passed through several owners before going to Ford, fitted with a VIP interior (claimed to be the most extravagant DC-3 in the world) and flying in Argentina as LY-GYP before being acquired by the Hibernian Dakota Flight in 1984. The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum/Aeroventure then obtained it from the 390th BG Museum at Framlington, Suffolk and plans to restore it as KLM/BOAC DC-3 G-AGBB, which was shot down by a Ju-88 and operated from Doncaster.
