Delivered to Pan American as NC19903 in 1940. Sold as ZS-BWV in 1948 then to the Haiti Air Force as 2003 in 1953. Sold as N9703R in 1959 then N19903 in 1962. To Inter-American in 1965. Sold and stored at Mesa-Falcon Field in 1969. Flown to Davis-Monthan AFB for the museum in 1973. Left in 1994 and flown to Boeing Field for restoration to its original Pan American markings as NC19903. Flew again in 2001. Ditched in Elliott Bay, WA while on a test/training flight in 2002. Recovered and restored to flying condition again and flown Washington-Dulles, VA in 2003 for preservation.

'Clipper Flying Cloud' has been beautifully restored by Boeing in 2001 so this very interesting piece of aviation history is now on display at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center.

I had the opportunity to tour the museum one day prior to its official opening.

Restored by Boeing Aircraft between 1994 and 2001, and currently on display in Pan American colors at the Smithsonian's Udvar Hazy Center at Dulles Airport.

1939-built Boeing Stratoliner stored at the Pima museum before it opened to the public. Still has Inter-American's "IA" logo on the tail.

NC19903 poses for the camera over Mount Rainier, Washington, before delivery to Pan Am in 1940. This early pressurised airliner, of which only 10 were built, was then deployed on the airline's South American routes. TWA used theirs for transcontinental services. After spending more than two decades at the Pima Air Museum, this aircraft is now preserved in the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Center at IAD. Obtained from PAA 60 years ago.
