First flying on March 14, 1945, this Me-262 Schwalbe was converted to a reconnaissance aircraft with two cameras replacing the four 30 mm cannon in the nose. The aircraft was captured at Lechfeld airfield in Barvaria on April 27, 1945 and later transported to the USA by sea for evaluation. Acquired by the Planes of Fame Museum circa 1955, Paul Allen it added to his collection at the Flying Heritage Museum in 2000. The fighter has undergone extensive restoration including the original Jumo 004B engines with the intention to fly it at least once again.

Former Comair Metro was registered C-GSLA in August 1989. After a fatal crash of sistership C-GSLB at Terrace, BC on September 26, 1989, the airline came under scrutiny from Transport Canada and lost their operating certificate. C-GSLA was returned to Fairchild in November 1989. The aircraft (now N2183A registered to Fairchild) crashed September 18, 1992 during a test flight. It failed to flare on landing and hit hard, damaging it beyond repair.
