The Japan Coastguard (Kaijō Hoan-chō) took delivery of thirty-eight Bell 212s during 1973 - 1989. The fleet was gradually sold off as they were replaced with Augusta Westland AW139s beginning in 2008. This is one (former JA9565) of four taken by Eagle Copters and is pictured leased to HeliQwest, still in it's basic Japan Coast Guard color scheme. The helicopter was registered to HeliQwest November 18, 2014 and by 2016 it was in full HeliQwest colors. In March of 2023, it was sold and registered to Alberta based Range Helicopters.
