Slide taken by the late Norbert Kröpfl. - About 50 years ago, the Fokker 28 was very popular with German charter airlines, and they bought a total of 11 new aircraft (Aviaction 3, Germanair 4, and LTU 4). Summer holiday destinations in the Mediterranean were within the range capability of the small airliner, but the preferred winter holiday spots like Canary Islands could not be reached nonstop, and the Fokkers were mostly parked idle in the snow in Germany. So, all of them had been sold by 1977; this one continued flying with ITAVIA and ended up with Canadian Regional as C-GCRN.

What a futuristic design for a light twin-engined aircraft - at least in the early seventies! HB-LGL was built in 1972, two years after the first flight of the type was conducted. Sadly, the aircraft was lost when it collided with high mountains in northern Italy on 17/OCT/86. - Slide taken by the late Norbert Kröpfl.

slide taken by the late Norbert Kröpfl. - Luftwaffe operated three JetStar 6's, one of them was lost in a midair collision near Bremen in 1968. It was replaced then by the sole JetStar 8, which is shown here as 11+02 in old high visibility colours. After 1985 all three JetStars were sold to ZAS of Egypt; this one became SU-DAG and was last seen derelict at Cairo in 2015.
