Douglas DC-3, N510NR, undergoing conversion to a Basler BT-67 turboprop on the north side of Oshkosh Airport in May 1989. The BT-67 conversion includes retrofitting the aircraft with new P&WC PT6A-67R turboprop engines, lengthening the fuselage (seen here underway), strengthening the airframe, upgrading the avionics, and modifying the leading edges and wingtips. This became the 12th BT-67. It was sold to the Guatemala Air Force in 1992. In January 1990, Basler Turbine Conversions opened a new 75,000 sq ft hangar at KOSH for BT-67 conversions.

Four Seasons Aviation briefly based this DHC-2 Beaver, C-FETE in the Toronto Aerospace Museum (TAM) hangar at Downsview in 2009. It was originally CF-OMI. It was leased to Rideau Air for sightseeing flights in Ottawa in 2010 before exported. The hangar behind was built DHC in 1940-1941 as a paint shop for new Avro Anson IIs and Mosquitoes. Postwar, this building was the site of DHC's experimental workshops where the prototype DHC-1 Chipmunk and DHC-2 Beaver were built by hand. In Apr 2019, Centennial College opened its $72 M Downsview Campus Centre for Aerospace and Aviation on the site.

The first Dash 8-400 (Q400) for Horizon Air was photographed inside the Bombardier Dash 8 factory at Downsview Airport, Toronto, Ontario in late 2000 or early 2001 prior to delivery. The aircraft was initially "delivered" to Bombardier Capital as N400QX on January 8, 2001 (which allowed Bombardier to recognize the delivery before its fiscal year end on Jan 31, 2001 ). Bombardier probably leased this Q400 to Horizon Air before financing was finalized. It was officially registered to the Seattle-based airline on Sep. 20, 2001. Kodachrome Slide Scan.

This EC135T2+ is based at Squamish Airport and is equipped with a hoist to transfer maintenance crews to high voltage hydro electric power lines in the Hwy 99 Sea to Sky corridor between Vancouver and Lillooet, BC and elsewhere in southwest British Columbia. The BC Hydro utility changed its policy and started contracting twin engine helicopters to maintain power lines after a fatal crash of a single-engine Bell in Cranbrook, BC in 2008. In Dec. 2021, Blackcomb had 21 helicopters and eight bases, including five bases on the Hwy 99 corridor. This EC135 also does mountain rescue hoists.

This 2002 model Bell 407 previously operated by Helicópteros y Vehículos Aéreos Nacionales S.A. de C.V. (Helivan) in Mexico was one of a dozen interesting helicopters in the San Juan Aviation hangar at Arlington Airport in Aug. 2016. It was subsequently operated by Helicopter Express as N408MX. It was then converted in Calgary, Alberta to a Eagle Copters 407HP (which sees a 1,000 hp Honeywell HTS900 replacing the 407's the original 813 hp Rolls Royce 250-C47B turboshaft engine) and delivered in July to Air Shasta as N406AS. In 2008, ExelTech Aerospace built this built this 150,000 sq ft. hangar and office building southeast of the button of Runway 24E at Montréal - Trudeau Airport (YUL) for its aircraft maintenance business. A unique aspect of the design is that it was the largest wooden hangar constructed in Canada in decades, featuring glued-laminated timber beams and columns and underlying glued-laminated timber beams. ExelTech went bankrupt in 2010 and in June of that year Bombardier bought the facility to increase its completion center capabilities for its Global 5000 and Global Express XRS business jets.
