The Department of Homeland Security operates a large fleet of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, including a number allocated to patrolling the northern US border with Canada. The Bellingham Airport base is the northwest most DHS aircraft base in the continental US and flies Airbus H125s (AS350B3+), Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawks and fixed-wing patrol aircraft. Crews have apprehended drug smugglers, illegal immigrants and others. This AS350B3+ was delivered in 2009 and is equipped with stabilized camera and searchlight. US Customs and Border Protection titles and US Department of Homeland Security badge on the tail.
