This EC135T2+ is based at Squamish Airport and is equipped with a hoist to transfer maintenance crews to high voltage hydro electric power lines in the Hwy 99 Sea to Sky corridor between Vancouver and Lillooet, BC and elsewhere in southwest British Columbia. The BC Hydro utility changed its policy and started contracting twin engine helicopters to maintain power lines after a fatal crash of a single-engine Bell in Cranbrook, BC in 2008. In Dec. 2021, Blackcomb had 21 helicopters and eight bases, including five bases on the Hwy 99 corridor. This EC135 also does mountain rescue hoists. This photo is copyright © Kenneth I.
