RCAF Harvard 20354 was struck off strength in 1965. It was bought surplus and registered CF-SPC in 1965. Pictured at a fly-in at Orillia, it would soon get a new yellow with black trim color scheme.

Built in 1937 and registered NC18030 (later N18030) this classic Airmaster was registered CF-NEV in Canada circa 1960. Acquired by the Reynolds Museum around 1987, the aircraft remains on display there at the time of uploading.

A little faded from exposure to the elements in exacting climates. Bristling with a range of sensors for its environmental work. Carrying the name "Polar 5" and the logo and titles of the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) in Germany, which carries out Arctic, Antarctic and Marine Research. The badge of the "International Polar Year 2007-2008" is still displayed on the fairing under its nose.

This former US Army U-6A, 58-2008, later served with the Civil Air Patrol as N5345G until exported to Canada in June 1979 and registered C-GRYG. For most of its Canadian career, this Beaver has been used to transport guests from a base near Port Loring, Ontario to fly-in fishing and wilderness in the surrounding area. The first Canadian owner was Rog-Air Ltd. (1979-1995), the Rogerson's Enterprises Ltd (1995-1996), and finally Tornados Air Services Inc., which also flies a Found Brothers FBA-2C1, C-GINA. In recent years (and during the Covid-19) the aircraft has wintered at Orillia Airport.

The Lake St. John Aerodrome was established more than 60 years ago by RCAF veterans as a combined airport and seaplane base 12.0 km; (7.5 mi) northeast of Orillia, Ontario. It's still one of the few combined land & seaplane facilities in southern Ontario.Current owner Clayton Smith has investing $2 million in airport improvements and built several new hangars. The photo shows the Orillia Aviation offices and maintenance hangar in December 2015 prior to a major renovation that added a restaurant.
