Somewhat backlit to get a shot of this side of the new DC-3 in the miniature city of Madurodam theme park. This DC-3 originally N213GB was rescued from Florida in 2018. New in the miniature city of Madurodam theme park in the city of The Hague is this fully restored DC-3. In the future it will offer "flights" over the miniature town, in a mechanical way. It looks like a large jack will lift the fuselage. This feature is not yet ready. The DC-3 is ex N213GB which was transported by boat from Florida in late 2018. The fake registration PH-APM refers to Albert Plesman, founder of KLM in 1919, over 100 years ago. Note for photographers, it is pretty difficult to get the registration in on this side, which has the afternoon sun. Bring a long lens to allow a distant shot.

In 1975 Florida Airlines took over both Air South and Shawnee Airlines, because their route networks supplemented that of Florida Airlines perfectly. The two airlines continued to operate under their own names as Florida Airlines subsidiaries, but their combined routes were marketed as "The Connection". Some aircraft carried large "The Connection" titles, and often also the actual airline's name in smaller size. DC-3 N79B for example is seen here carrying small "Florida Airlines" titles on the nose and below the reg.

Delivered to the USAAF as 43-48188 in 1944. To N87630 in 1961, N395R in 1973, C-GGVU in 1975, N800RC in 1977, YS-43C by 1987 and HK-3632X in 1992. Impounded at Madrid by 1995.

This aircraft is not the original NZ3546. It is ex USAF 43-49219, PI-C486, VH-PNM, VH-SBT. It was registered ZK-DAK in 1987 after arriving from Australia..

Clearly an advertising shoot with daisy-fresh 'overnight passengers' disembarking from a TWA 'Luxury Sky-Sleeper'. Although the 'widebody' DC-3 was expensively redesigned from the DC-2 as a sleeper plane, it never became popular as such. TWA's DC-3B already had a smaller, convertible sleeper cabin, with fewer upper windows than the original DST. NC17312 was commandeered by the USAAF as a C-84, but returned to TWA in 1943. The line up of some of the C-47s used by the School of Air Navigation RAAF Base East Sale, Victoria, Australia. Other serial numbers present are A65-65 (cn 26637 ex USAAF 43-49376), A65-30 (cn 12076 ex USAAF 42-92292) and A65-26 (cn12037 ex USAAF 42-92257).

Delivered to the USAAF as 41-7850 in 1942. To NC22428 in 1946 then to Avianca as C-124 in 1947. Later reregistered as HK-124. Used by a number of operators. To Lacol in 1988. They ceased operations in 1996 and it was stored at Bogota. Still there in 2008.

Previously USAAF serial number 43-49866 and RAAF serial A65-69 of the RAAF Butterworth station flight. Behind the flagpole is a the plaque that Commemorates stationing of the RAF at Gatow 1945-1994 and the British Airmen and soldiers that were committed to the Berlin Airlift 1948-1949. Given an RAF serial of ZD215 for delivery on 18th June 1980 to Gatow as only British, US, and French serialed aircraft were allowed safe passage through the Berlin air corridors up to 1989. Flown Sqn Ldr Al Culloway RAF and AV Marshall David Evans a veteran of the Berlin Airlift.

AoA sent their new DC-3 Kyilla, the very first of many on the Australian Register, to Townsville, possibly for the opening of the new Townsville/Garbutt aerodrome on 1 February 1939.

C-47A with a six-digit fiscal year 1942 serial, 42-108948. To RAF as KG597 in May 1944. To Argentina in 1946. Crashed in Córdoba province on 16 July 1956. The four crew and 14 pax were killed.

Delivered to the USAAF as C-47B c/n 20886 43-16420 in 1944. To NC67125 in 1946 and converted to DC-3C c/n 43086. To N69K in 1963, N524W in 1966, N712MW in 1968, N321GR in 1969, N43A in 1973 and HK-2006X in 1978, later HK2006.

Built for the USAAF as TC-47B 44-76773. Delivered to the US Navy as R4D-7 Bu99826 in 1945. Redesignated as a TC-47K in 1962. To N87611 in 1971 then to SAEP as HK-2494 in 1980. To Sadelca in 1999. Later to LASER. Destroyed in a fatal crash in Colombia in 2019.

Used as a navigational trainer at the RAAF School of Air Navigation (SAN) RAAF Base East Sale. It is ex USAAF 42-92257.
