One of the first visits of a Boeing 777 for Eelde, with quite a few to follow. KLM performed their maintenance program at Amsterdam and part of this was a post-maintenance checkflight to tick off various items. One of these items is an approach and alternate gear extension (note the open gear doors). They were always very welcome guest at Eelde. As time progressed, the approach became lower and lower, with some actual touch & go's as a result.

Delivered to KLM in October 2003.

Delivered new to the airline in October 2003. In March 2021 painted in the latest KLM-livery and current at date of upload.

Departing from runway 18 off to Guayaquil and then to Amsterdam during a sunny afternoon. During summer here at Quito, runway 18 is in use due to heavy winds at the airport.

Looking splendid again after a repaint in the new livery at Dublin, which was applied between 19 and 31 March 2021.

Somewhat backlit to get a shot of this side of the new DC-3 in the miniature city of Madurodam theme park. This DC-3 originally N213GB was rescued from Florida in 2018. Some pictures of the airplane there are available on this website too. Search the web for the blog of the "Dakota Hunter" to read his story about the journey of this aircraft.

New in the miniature city of Madurodam theme park in the city of The Hague is this fully restored DC-3. In the future it will offer "flights" over the miniature town, in a mechanical way. It looks like a large jack will lift the fuselage. This feature is not yet ready. The DC-3 is ex N213GB which was transported by boat from Florida in late 2018. The fake registration PH-APM refers to Albert Plesman, founder of KLM in 1919, over 100 years ago. Note for photographers, it is pretty difficult to get the registration in on this side, which has the afternoon sun. Bring a long lens to allow a distant shot.

Superb winter light as KLM9851 reaches the lowest point of the missed approach/go-around. Another succesful checkflight after maintenance.
