Desert Air DC-3 departs Anchorage Intl Airport with another load of cargo for the Alaskan outback.

This aircraft is suspended from the roof of the American Air Museum at the Imperial War Museum Duxford collection

N136PB the high time DC-3 in PBA's fleet taking a short break at Key West FL on 5 Nov 85. A friend and I wanted to fly on this famous old girl and through a Naples Airlines contact got fixed up with a MIA-EYW-MIA round trip. On our arrival back at MIA she had completed 88346.7 flight hours.

Registered to Kingdom Air Corps, former Missionary Flights that was flown to Alaska a few years ago an parked at Palmer Municipal Airport. Very nice airplane with a very nice pax interior.

This DC-3 has stored at Palmer Municipal Airport for many years and is slowly going downhill. It was reported to have been donated to a museum a few years ago but is currently registered to a woman in Nevada.

After being loaded with two reels of cable, this veteran freight dog heads out on another routine flight to the Alaskan outback. The large nose radome was probably installed in the 1980's while in service with Westinghouse Electric Corporation as avionics test bed.

Spares aircraft owned by TransNorthern Aviation. Has been parked at Wasilla since arriving from Arizona 10+ years ago.

One of two C-117D/R4D-8 Super DC-3s operated by TransNorthern. This aircraft is a freighter while the other is set up to carry passengers.

N30TN the sole surviving civilian Super DC-3, with all others being former US Navy C-117D/R4D-8's. Wearing Douglas company colors, her wings had been removed for a mandatory inspection before the start of another season carrying passengers to the Alaskan outback.

Still wearing the colors of former owner Lee County Mosquito Control District, this aircraft was reportedly sold to a museum that planned on flying it to the June 2019 Daks Over Normandy event in Europe. From this photo, it obviously never made the trip.

Owned by Lynbird International. Although painted on the aircraft the registration N125SF was apparently not taken up and the aircraft remained officially registered N37FL.

On display in the Cold War Gallery at RAF Museum Cosford. Flown by Communications Squadrons after World War II, this aircraft served in a VIP role in Germany and Singapore. It was assigned to the Queen's Flight in 1961, and was the last Dakota in service with the RAF in 1970. Moved to the museum, the Dakota was painted in 2005 in Transport Command colors.

Recorded as registered to Barons of Jacksonville Inc. at the time. Sold to Four Star Aviation Nov 87 and re-reg N136FS Jun 88. Written off by a serious cockpit fire whilst taxiing for take-off at San Juan (PR) 26 Apr 2009. According to one of the crew the fire began when flames suddenly burst out from behind the instrument panel. The cockpit area was completely destroyed. Two crew and two loaders evacuated safely. The Probable Cause was determined to be "worn electrical wires and a fuel pressure indicating system hose, which resulted in a fire". Lucky for those on it was still on the ground!

Ex Skyfreight Airlines. Made its way to Colombia in Feb 1986.

Having photographed it looking airworthy at MIA in Dec 1982, I was surprised to find it in this state at TMB almost 3 years later. It is now known that it did go to Colombia and was allocated as FAC 637 but did not enter service.
