The event commemorates India's decisive victory over Pakistan on 16 Dec 1971 that created Bangladesh. It saw the surrender of 93,000 Pakistani personnel, the largest POW capture since World War II. The Cheetah has been used for liaison, observation, CASEVAC, logistics and has been a lifeline for high-altitude operations.

On display at Pima Air & Space Museum. Originally built as a Stratocruiser, this aircraft served PanAm as "Clipper Constitution" and "Clipper Hotspur." After retirement it was acquired by Leo Mansdorf, who alongside Jack Conroy and Wernher von Braun converted it with YC-97J parts into Aero Spacelines' Super Guppy. This redesign enabled the plane to carry oversize rocket components for NASA, with its hinged nose able to swing open 110° to a cargo bay 109' long and 25' in diameter. Along with the Pregnant Guppy, this was the first of five Super Guppies built that transported Saturn V sections.

On display at RAFM Hendon in the markings of Capt. Donald R. Emerson of 336th FS, 4th FG based at Debden, KIA on Christmas 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge. This Mustang was taken on charge by the USAAF in 1945 with s/n 44-74409. It was struck off USAF charge in 1950 and assigned to MAP. It was taken on charge by the RCAF on 6 Dec 1950, serving with No. 417 Sqn, then with No. 403 and No. 402 Sqn before going into storage. It was struck off RCAF charge on 30 Dec 1958, being acquired thereafter by several private owners, including a stint in Venezuela. It went to the museum in Dec 2003.

On display at RAF Museum Hendon. The Hart served in the day bomber and recce role with eighteen RAF squadrons. It was used in Abyssinia and the NWFP for quelling uprisings and subsequently achieved success as an export model. The design influenced the Hawker Demon, Audax, Osprey, Hardy, Hind and Hector. This Hart II trainer powered by a 525 hp Rolls-Royce Kestrel IB was registered as G-ABMR and served as a demonstration aircraft for Hawker. It was painted in 1963 to represent a Hart of No. 57 Sqn that operated the type from 1931-36.

A look inside RGIA's spacious Domestic Terminal that keeps getting better with its sizeable number of places to eat and shop, more akin to a mall. It's such a pleasant experience to depart from, once past the check-in counters.

Only extant Fireball out of 66 production aircraft on display at Planes of Fame Air Museum. The mixed-propulsion Fireball was powered by a 1,350 hp Wright R-1820-72W Cyclone radial engine in front and a 7.12 kN J31-GE-3 turbojet at the rear. Air was ducted from intakes in the wing root to the turbojet. The type equipped VF-66 "Firebirds" and VF-1E. BuNo 39657 went to NACA's Ames Research Center in 1945 for testing. After the USN took the carrier-based FR-1s out of service in 1947 due to structural issues, this aircraft was donated to Cal Poly SLO. The museum acquired it in 1967.

"Vision XV" ready for a winter morning departure from NSCBIA. This aircraft was newly delivered to Hainan Airlines on 19 Dec 2000. It was converted to cargo configuration in Nov 2019. SpiceJet previously operated the aircraft as VT-SFG "Blaze" from 19 Dec 2019 to 5 Sep 2022.

On display inside the hangar of CV-10 USS Yorktown. This is the Goodyear FG-1D, similar to the F4U-1D. It was the ultimate -1 variant that saw many improvements, including the addition of a 160 gal. jettisonable centreline tank and the carrying of two 1,000lb bombs or 154 gal. drop tanks or napalm on stub-wing pylons. The aircraft is painted in the markings of Lt. Timmy Gile, 8-victory ace of VF-17 "Jolly Rogers."

BuNo 19075 under restoration at Yanks Air Museum. Visible is the 1,900 hp R-2600-20 Twin Cyclone radial engine, housing for 20mm cannon and the wide wheel track. The first USN squadron to fly the SB2C-1 in anger was VB-17 operating from USS Bunker Hill in 1943. The Helldiver started to replace the Dauntless in 1944, but the aircraft was not as well liked. Nevertheless, the SB2C-3 equipped fleet carriers of TF38 in time for Leyte Gulf. In a coordinated carrier air group attack, Helldivers went first.

Taxiing out to display on a grey day at Mid Atlantic Air Museum's 34th Annual WW II Weekend Airshow. Constructed in 1942, this Valiant was taken on charge by the USAAF with s/n 42-1779. Restored in USN colors, the aircraft with its unflattering moniker "Vultee Vibrator" served as the SNV for formation flying and as an instrument trainer.

Tejas with callsign DHIKOW representing the Assamese river performing low level aerobatics in the afternoon at Lachit Ghat, Guwahati during IAF Flying Display 2025, the first major air show held in Northeast India to mark the 93rd anniversary of the Indian Air Force. The upper lift surfaces show some peeling that adds to the fleet look as the display pilot manoeuvres hard over the Brahmaputra River.

On display at IAF Museum Palam with the upper 30mm cannon ports permanently faired over. Designed by Dr. Kurt Tank, the Marut prototype first flew on 17 Jun 1961 as India's first indigenous jet fighter. It was fitted with a pair of RR Orpheus 703 engines, but they were underpowered for the aircraft. Inducted in the IAF in Apr 1967, the Marut equipped No. 10 Sqn "Winged Daggers," No. 220 Sqn "Desert Tigers" and No. 31 Sqn "Lions." The Marut was used in the recce and ground attack role in the 1971 war, achieving a victory over a PAF F-86 Sabre on 7 Dec 1971. The type was phased out in 1983.
