Built for American as DC-3-277D NC33657. Delivered to the USAAF as DC-3-396/C-50 41-7698 in 1941. To the RAAF as VHCDJ in 1942. To Guinea Airways in 1944. Reregistered as VH-ANH and to Ansett in 1946. To the museum in 1972,

Ordered by American Airlines but delivered to the USAAF, VH-ANH ended up in Australia with the Allied Directorate of Air Transport. The USAAF, RAAF and Guinea Airways flew it with the callsign VHCDJ. Guinea Airways bought it postwar but was soon transferred to ANA. When Ansett took over ANA -ANH was passed between the various airlines in the group until withdrawn from use in 1970. Mangalore, remote from residential areas, served as a training airport for Ansett and TAA in the age of propliners and a place to divert when Melbourne-Essendon was closed. It later became the venue for Australia's Oshkosh, an annual Easter gathering of warbirds, sports and vintage aircraft. That has long gone and today YMNG is best known for its helicopter operations and flight training

VH-ANH is now preserved at the Australian National Aviation Museum, Moorabbin.

Ex Ansett Airlines of Australia, wfu 24.12.70. Ordered by American Airlines as a DC-3 but not taken up. Fitted with right-hand door. Taken over on the production line as USAAF 41-7698, one of 14 C-50's. Served RAAF as VHCDJ. Served Ansett 1946 until 1970. Now preserved.

Built for American Airlines but taken over the US military as a C-50 in World War II. After the war it was sold to Australian National Airways and fitted with Wright engines in common with the rest of the ANA fleet. It had been built with Wrights but Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasps were installed in 1944. It passed to Ansett with the takeover of ANA and remained with the company until stored at Essendon airport in 1970. In 1972 it was ferried to Melbourne Tullamarine and repainted in Ansett's contemporary livery, then ferried to Moorabbin airport for display. It remains there.
