Pictured after a new paint job and a few upgrades, this former Pakistani government Beaver (AP-AOW during 1963 - 74) was added to the US register in December 1974. It headed to Alaska in the beginning of 1986 and is still current there at the time of uploading.

After being damaged during glider towing in 1986, this Bird Dog was rebuilt as a warbird using it's original US Army serial number (51-11971 ).

Expansion going on at the original Lee Terminal building in the photo doesn't compare to the changes at Standiford Field that happened in the 1980s and 90s. You would hardly recognize this as the same airport when comparing with recent photos.

This 1957 Beech 18 has a varied carrier history. First with Danly Machine Specialties for one year as N2101, it next flew with the Missouri State Highway Dept for the next twenty years as N21011. Small freight airlines and private owners followed and even a seizure in the Bahamas in 1984 for drug running. Returning to corporate and private owners along with flying skydivers kept the aircraft active. Pictured in the hangar at Keystone Heights, FL, the aircraft has moved to San Diego, CA with a new owner in October 2020.

Air Canada's second 747 was their longest surviving 747-100. Delivered March 18, 1971, it finished it's Air Canada service in May 1985 when sold to the GPA Group. Leased to Iberia (EC-DXE) that same month, it would also be leased to Middle East Airlines (EI-BRR) until bought by Wardair (C-FTOB again) in October 1986.Sold to ATASCO in 1990, the aircraft had several more leases until stored at Marana, AZ in 1999. It was finally broken up there in 2003

Twelve US Navy HS-2Ls were donated to Canada in 1919. A1876 was one of two operated by the Laurentide Paper Company on fire patrol and timber surveys. In 1920 the civil register was created and the aircraft became G-CAAC, Canada's first bush plane. Flown by Laurentide Aviation, the aircraft crashed on take-off in Ontario September 2, 1922. In 1967, the location was re-discovered and the aircraft was recovered during 1968 - 69. A sixteen year restoration using parts from G-CAAC and several other HS-Ls resulted in this only complete HS-2L left, the original nose section is displayed along side.

The McDonnell Douglas MD-80 was most numerous type in American Airlines' fleet (so far) with over three hundred and thirty operated. N298AA was delivered on January 13, 1986 and was finally stored at Roswell, MM in February 2011. The airframe was bought by Delta Airlines December 11, 2015 for use as a source of MD-80 parts.

This colorful Kiowa was later converted to an OH-58D with new serial 93-0937.

First with Airfast Helicopters as VH-UHG from 1968, this early civil Bell 205 was later N3764U before it was imported by Frontier Helicopters becoming C-GRWK in 1983. It was in their fleet until 1986 and has remained in Canada ever since. It's current with Custom Helicopters at the time of uploading.

Pictured while owned by Northern Adventures Ltd of Sioux Lookout , ON , the aircraft was registered to Kabeelo Airways in March 2020.

Obtained from the US Navy out of storage in 1996 where it was serialed 149265, this Tracker became N504DF with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Converted by Marsh Aviation to turbine power circa 2002, the aircraft was re-registered N431DF.

One of two EC120B Colibris operated by the Fresno Police Department.

Beech SNB-1 Bu 51025 spent some time with the US Forest Service as N7275C after 1959. It's pictured with new warbid US Navy "Caddo Lake" colors while in Canada 1981 - 1984. Sold in the USA as N145SC, the aircraft has since been further restored with the two gun turret and original small porthole windows.

This Stearman served in World War II as Army trainer 40-1781. By 1963 the biplane was with Watts Agricultural Services spraying in California for ten years before it was disassembled and crated for storage. Restored in 1990, It has been privately owned ever since.

Air Canada's 727 from August 28, 1975 until sold to FedEx in October 1984 and converted to a freighter. It was withdrawn from service in February 2010 and used for parts. The freighter was later scrapped and cancelled from the US register in 2013.

Pan American World Airways operated 128 707s, including the first six off of Boeing's production line as the mainstay of their fleet in the late 50s and 60s. Clipper Northern Light was leased from US Leasing Intl January 10, 1969. The aircraft was leased to Guyana Airways for three months before sale back to Boeing in September 1983. It was used for parts in the USAF KC-135E upgrade program.

Taken on strength November 19, 1953, this VU-33 Silver Star went to the USA as N519GL in 2011. The registration expired in 2018..

Kenmore Air acquired this, their first Turbo Beaver in 1986 as a salvage aircraft after an accident with Sea Airmotive in Alaska. Looking for a larger and faster aircraft to compliment their Cessna 180s and piston DHC-2 Beavers, they took the opportunity to develop a new STC for the Turbo Beaver with a new updated version of the PT-6 engine.
