Photographer Adrian Balch. This aircraft was abandoned over the sea just west of Strumble Head in South Wales on 8 September 1977, following engine failure.

Photographer not known. XP737 came to grief when, on 17 August 1979, the port landing-gear leg failed to extend when the aircraft was inbound to RAF Valley for the station's annual open day on 18 August. The pilot ejected over the sea and was quickly picked up by the local SAR helicopter, but the Lightning was consigned to the depths of the Irish Sea.

Photographer not known. XG194 still survives, restored by the Wattisham Airfield Museum into its former colours as a member of the famous Black Arrows RAF aerobatic team.

Originally built as a Mk.10 in May 1945. Converted into a Mk.10MR circa 1952 and retired circa 1955. Sold surplus in 1960 and moved to Nanton where it was on display next to the main north south highway for many years in front of the location where later the Bomber Command Museum of Canada was built.. When that was finished it moved inside and after an extensive restoration the Lancaster is now the star exhibit at the museum.

Expansion going on at the original Lee Terminal building in the photo doesn't compare to the changes at Standiford Field that happened in the 1980s and 90s. You would hardly recognize this as the same airport when comparing with recent photos.

Summer evening shot of former military 51-15729. Last with the US Army based at Fort Knox, KY, the aircraft's civil registration was cancelled in January 1981. I have so far, not found any more recent information.

Gene Soucy (Mr. Airshow) flew this gorgeous Pitts Special at the very beginning of his aerobatic career.

Built by Avro at Woodford. Transferred from the RAF to Royal Navy in 1969 and operated from Hurn by the Airwork FRU, still as a B.2. Modified to TT.18 in 1972.

Scimitar F.1 XD241 of 776 FRU, Royal Navy, at its Hurn base in 1970. The type was supersonic and nuclear capable. This aircraft had served 736 and 803 Squadrons aboard RN aircraft carriers. Retired in 12.70 and destroyed in ground missile tests.

Built in 1953 by EE as a B.2 bomber for RAF. Converted in 1967/68 to TT.18 for Royal Navy. Operated from Hurn by the based Airwork FRU and later by the FRADU. Retired in 1990.
