Surefire way for a Jenny to be photographed was to have a prang. In this instance both left wings have been torn off but the aircraft otherwise looks undamaged. Photo taken at what was then Wright Field but now part of the Patterson (eastern) section of Wright-Patterson Air Base. The US Army received hundreds of Canadian-built Jennies such as this one. Believed to be a prototype of the Twin JN although the picture was taken about nine months after the Twin JN appeared in April 1916. The rudder and undercarriage match photos of the prototype and differed considerably from production aircraft. Small numbers built for the US army and navy.
