Surefire way for a Jenny to be photographed was to have a prang. In this instance both left wings have been torn off but the aircraft otherwise looks undamaged. Photo taken at what was then Wright Field but now part of the Patterson (eastern) section of Wright-Patterson Air Base. The US Army received hundreds of Canadian-built Jennies such as this one. Sold in the US after the war ended. Canadian Aeroplanes was the government-owned former Curtiss factory at 1244 Dufferin Street. It is not clear if there was an airstrip at the factory. The factory occupied six acres and all photos of aircraft there were taken inside the building. Captions on those photos suggest the aircraft left the factory dismantled. The RFC had two training airfields a short distance to the factory. Library and Archives Canada

In the winter of 1917/18 pilot training for the Royal Flying Corps/RAF in Canada was moved to the Fort Worth region to escape the harsh Canadian winter. They were based at three US Army airfields close to Fort Worth. The caption on the photo says this is at Cresson which was not one the airfields. But the town of Cresson is a short distance from Benbrook airfield which was used by the Canadians. The lack of any infrastructure in the photo suggests this is a landing ground and not one of the Army airfields. C760 transferred to the US military. Photo from: City of Vancouver Archives
