Canadian built aircraft with the enlarged bomb bay for 8000lb bombs. Once Boscombe Down finished its trial, KB783 went on the serve with 428 and 419 Squadrons, both Canadian units within Bomber Command. The aircraft returned to Canada postwar where it almost immediately suffered an accident at Yarmouth. Written off, it would serve two years as an instructional airframe before being scrapped. About to touch down on Runway 23 at its XV Squadron base at RAF Lossiemouth. Carries the pennant of WG Cdr J P Nixon and the crest "MacRobert's Reply". After losing one son in a flying accident, Lady MacRobert lost two sons on active RAF service during WWII and donated aircraft in their memory. One aircraft was a Stirling bomber of XV Sqn, defiantly named "MacRobert's Reply". The Squadron has continued the tradition. The fin stripe is Robertson Hunting tartan.
