Retired by the airline in January 1993 pending sale to Japan Transocean. Seen here at Braathens Teknisk at Sola with all Braathens titles and registration removed. To JA8577 a few days later and delivered to Japan. Went on to serve with Mukamalah Aviation, N713A; Aviacsa, XA-ABC; and lastly LAM Mozambique, C9-BAO. Parted out at Gaborone by 2012. First flight December 12th 1987 and delivered to SAS December 31st 1987 as one of two MD-83s ordered originally for replacing DC-8s on routes to the Middle East and to Greenland. December 31st 1991 it was leased to Scanair for two years. November 1st 1993 SAS returned. In 2000 it was repainted to tthe new SAS "colours". May 22nd 2003 N862GA Allegiant Air. August 20th 2018 WFU and stored at Miami Opa Locka airport Seen and shot through at Terminal window at the old Charter terminal at Gardermoen in August 1992 on pushback for a rwy 19 departure

August 19th 2005 N923Pg Pacific Aircorp, derelict at Cancun, used for the Cancun Airport Fire Department for training. Seen and shot though Terminal window at the old Charter Terminal at GArdermoen ENGM / GEN, as it taxies northward for an afternoon departure at rwy19 to one of the Mediterranean resorts.

Originally delivered to Braniff International as N7077 in March 1961, it served until sold to American Aviation Services in August 1973, re-registered N734T and operated in AeroAmerica livery. For a while it was was operated for Thunderbird Hotels and used to fly gamblers to Las Vegas from a number of USA cities, but from October 1974 on it was based at Berlin Tegel and operated inclusive tour charters to various European holiday destinations. By 1981 it had been withdrawn from use and parked at Seattle - Boeing Field where it was last noted in June 1983. (Credit: oldjets.net/ Mike Zoeller).
