Typical configuration for QRA, with tip tanks, one Sparrow and one Sidewinder

Here photographed uncoded and equipped with safeguards on air intakes for engine tests, this aircraft was coded 4-38 and crashed on June 20, 1995 into sea killing the pilot, south of the Montecristo island, in misty weather conditions. Note the flash on the fin coloured with the distinctive blue and yellow colours of the 20 Gruppo's badge.

An always nice view of the clean TF. The C-130H on the backgroud was used for the flight baptism of the participant to the Officer School of Florence of that year.

Monument aircraft since '80s, having been involved in a touch and go accident in Grosseto, on 16 September 1980, and so badly damaged. Later restored in the blue/yellow scheme of the "Lions" and repositioned on a new pole from the exaust nozzle.

Equipped with SUU-21 Practice Bomb Dispenser. Note the small black horse logo on the front fuselage, that should refer to 10 Gruppo or 9 Stormo for unknown reasons to me.

Photographed at the end of its operational life, equipped with the SUU-21 practice bomb dispenser, it was withdrawn from use few months later.

The last F-4E Phantom II flight to Soesterberg air base took place on 6 March 1987. Two F-4Es of the 480th Tactical Fighter Squadron were used for this flight. Strikingly, this 74-1048 was a Soesterberg based 32nd TFS "Wolfhounds" aircraft in older days!. This 048 was moved to AMARC on 25 June 1992 and received inventory code FP0868. It was selected for QF-4E conversion, moved from AMARC in March 2001 and flown to BAE Systems at Mojave (CA) in July 2011. It was rebuilt to QF-4E, Lot 9 and shot down while in service of the 82nd ATRS at Tyndall on 16 October 2002.

Just purchased by the Dutch Dakota Association. DDA logo on cargo door, name "Doornroosje" on port side nose, "Sleeping Beauty" on starboard side nose. Departed Malta as PH-DDZ on 9 May 1987.

Ex-T9-24/Spanish Air Force. Purchased by NewCal Aviation. First former Spanish Air Force Caribou to arrive at NewCal's Safi facility for overhaul.
