44-28866 was modified off the production line as a TB-25 and remained in the USA for crew training.. Later it was used as a utility transport with the USAF until struck off strength in 1957. Registered N5277V in 1958, the aircraft went on lease in Canada during 1960 and was converted to a fire bomber. In 1964, it was purchased and registered CF-OND, continuing to work fighting fires. Returning to the USA as NN225AJ and later N744CG, it has been restored as a warbird. The bomber has been associated with the Champaign Aviation Museum since 2008.

Background: Aeriane Sirocco (PH-2B7, c/n 90-061), HM-14 (G-AEOF, c/n WM.1), Auster J/1 (PH-NFH, c/n 1845, silver fuselage & yellow stripping, with prop), Sagitta 013 (PH-308, c/n 006, white & blue leading edge wings), Schleicher K.8B (PH-393, c/n 8768, red wings & tail), Schleicher Ka-4 Rhonlerche II (PH-375, c/n 3078, white & blue fuselage), Grunau Baby IIb (PH-170, c/n 6052, yellow fuselage). PH-NDC (Fokker S-12) is possibly back there is well, hidden from sight. I think I also see Stearman Hammond Y-1S tails. The yellow metal could be Fairey Firefly TT.I SE-CAU.

22 Jun 1945: TOS USAAF as A-26B and assigned to storage. Jun 1948: Redesignated B-26B. Nov 1950 to Feb 1951: Converted to B-26C. Apr 1951 to Jun 1952: Flew combat in Korea, then returned to duty in USA. Feb 1957: WFU. Later solid nose installed and operated as fire bomber in Canada. 1988: Hawkins & Powers Greybull, WY. 1999 museum status. 2006: Hans Lauridsen's museum in AZ.

An aircraft that attends many events but in a new colour scheme

Ordered by the USAAF as 43-5795. Delivered to the RCAF as 845 in 1943. To N1232N in 1947. Still current on the register in 2021

Wartime P-40 42-104977 was shot down over Lae, New Guinea September 13, 1943. Salvageable parts were recovered in 2005 and taken to Australia. Combined with many other P-40 parts, the fighter was restored and flew in 2008 as VH-MIK. After a landing gear collapse on August 1, 2009, the aircraft was repaired and converted to a two seat TP-40N. Sold to the USA as N977WH, the warbird is pictured taking a break from EAA Airventure 2019 at Fond du Lac giving warbird rides.

Ca.1944: TOS USAAF as 43-22210. Fifth civilian owner converted it for spraying operations. 5 Oct 1965: Acquired by the Confederate Air Force who restored it from 1971 to 1976. 8 Oct 1988: The 70-yr-old pilot flying this plane suffered a fatal heart attack and crashed near Harlingen, TX.

1943: TOS USAAF as 43-21709. 1945: War Assets, Seacy Field, Stillwater, OK. 19 Feb 1946: Paul Mantz bought it and converted it with passenger seats for 4 and installed windows. Over the years several owners with an Executive conversion carried out 1951-1953 with a passenger seat and window were added behind the pilot. From 2007 to 2010 it underwent major overhaul and restoration to WWII condition.

Delivered to the USAAF as 42-93251 in 1944. To F-BAXG in 1946 then to CNET as F-SEBD in 1964. Allocated as F-BLOZ in 1981 but not taken up. Preserved at La Ferté-Alais from 1986. USAAF markings being removed.

The "serial" on the tail is obviously fake, it being the aircraft's c/n.

K25 slide scan. Delivered April 1946 as N6404 to Northwest Orient. The original registration is still visible on the tail after so many years. Aircraft was aquired by Aces High in 2002 and flown over the Atlantic to North Weald for an abortive movie project. Deteriorating over the years it was scrapped in 2015.
