The Ryan STM-2 used to be a popular trainer type in the Neth East Indies. The type was used both by the Army Air Force (KNIL) and Navy. Several Navy Ryans were equiped with EDO floats to train future Do-24 and Catalina pilots. The STM-2 was flown with spad covered wheels but these have been removed during maintenance,
Preserved at the Musée Delta at Athis-Mons just outside Orly Airport. Painted in British Airways colours on the other side. Pre-production aircraft. First flew in 1973. Preserved at Orly from 1976. To the Musée Delta in 1988.
