This Havoc was used by the Soviet air force and was shot down by anti-aircraft artillery on April 9, 1945 during an attack on a German convoy. The plane was forced to land, and the crew was saved. The wreck was discovered at the bottom of the Baltic Sea in June 2013, 4 km from Rozewie at a depth of 14 m. In October 2014, the plane was recovered from the sea. The wreck has been exhibited at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow since 2021.

The arsenal of democracy. Lockheed Hudsons and Douglas DB-7s for the Royal Air Force, and an L-18 Lodestar, ZS-ATE, for South African Airways. Originally ordered by France, the 100 DB-7A Havoc IIs, including AH443 and AH436 here with the white serials, were converted to night fighters. Judging by photo 408544, this shot was taken at Floyd Bennett Field in New York, probably in December 1940. Photo from: National Museum of Denmark
