Built for the USAAF as A-26C 44-34312. Converted to a B-26C, transferred to the French Air Force in October 1956 and later modified to an RB-26P. SOC in August 1966 and sold to Société Cartographie Et Travail Aerien Carta at Creil. The aircraft ever entered service with them and was and flown to Biafra in August 1967 routing via Lisbon to Port Harcourt. It was written off landing at Port Harcourt on 3rd December 1967.

At the time it was owned by one of Howard Hughes' companies and was under watch 24 hours a day by guards to prevent anyone from approaching the aircraft and any photography - this photo was taken by some misdirection. It was eventually was sold for museum display.
