This aircraft's civil registration remains valid as of summer 2022, though it doesn't fly any more.

Former USAAF 42-8205. Sold as NC75640 in 1948 then to the Bolivian Air Force in 1949. Preserved at La Paz as FAB 007. Returned to the USA in 1973 and registered as N14519. To the Champlin Fighter Museum, Mesa, AZ in 1981 then to the Museum of Flight in 2000 and moved to Seattle in 2003. Registration cancelled in 2019.

Correct serial is 56-934. Used by NASA from 1965 to 1963. Preserved at George AFB, CA by 1979. To the Museum of Flight in 1990.

A very nice and surprise visitor on this clear day with temperatures reaching 34°C (94F), well above normal and setting a record high for this day at VNY. My friend Thomas and I didn't mind seeing the rare DC-2 and feeling the heat.

This classic Lear Jet is preserved in front of the Museum of Flight Restoration Center at Paine Field, WA. The aircraft is painted as N407V (cn 23-087) registered to Jetair in June 1966. This aircraft actually carried registrations N242WT, N241BN, N24FF and N154AG.

Delivered to American as NC15591 in 1940. To TWA in 1942. Reregistered as N15591 after 1948. To other operators after 1952. Reregistered as N138D in 1957. To the Museum of flight in 1987.

This former Moroccan Air Force MiG-17 was later repainted to represent a Vietnamese aircraft with fake serial 7469.

On display in the Personal Courage Wing at the Museum of Flight. This replica was begun in 1971 and completed in 1988. It is in the markings of American ace Lt. George A. Vaughn, who served with No. 84 Sqn. RAF in May 1918.

Prototype F-5A on display in the Great Gallery at the Museum of Flight. Northrop's Chief Experimental Test Pilot Lewis A. Nelson took it supersonic on its first flight at Edwards AFB on 30 July 1959. The T-38 was a successful USAF supersonic trainer, but it took seven years to get a production order for the F-5A that ultimately became a successful lightweight, low cost fighter-bomber with its high thrust-to-weight ratio J85-GE-13 engines.

On display at the Museum of Flight. Designed by Bill Lear, this prototype first flew on "Dec. 32, 1980", as recorded officially so that British government funding expiring in 1980 could continue to be enjoyed. Only three aircraft were built and they are all on display in US museums. The Lear Fan was built of composite materials which revolutionized the field of aviation, had a Y-shaped empennage and the pusher propeller was powered by a pair of P&W Canada PT6B-35F turboshafts. Ahead of its time, it ran into trouble with the FAA on gearbox issues.

On display at the Museum of Flight. This replica is Bestellnr. 535/17, likely from Jasta 6 as per its markings. The original triplane would have flown with Jagdgeschwader 1 comprising of Jagdstaffeln 4, 6, 10 and 11. The first fighter wing of the Luftstreitkräfte was created in June 1917 and commanded by Rittmeister Manfred von Richthofen, the only logical choice. Along with the famous red triplane of the ace, a number of colourful aircraft made up the "Flying Circus", as it was referred to by RFC pilots.

On display at the Museum of Flight. Built in numbers, the D.V suffered from lower wing failures and was considered outdated by Manfred von Richthofen. This replica is painted in the markings of Oblt. Richard Flashar, commander of Jasta 5. Dragon Albatros W/n 5636/17 was handed over to Lt. Hans Joachim von Hippel, who succeeded in making a crash landing after combat on Feb. 18, 1918.

On display at the Museum of Flight. This Thunderbolt was recovered from La Paz for restoration. "Big Stud" is painted in the markings of Col. Robert L. Baseler, CO of 325th FG from July 1943 to April 1944 in the Mediterranean Theater. The 325th FG wore the distinctive black and yellow checkertail on its P-40s, P-47s and P-51s.

On display at the Museum of Flight. This is an original Pfalz D.XII that was brought for evaluation to the USA along with other aircraft after WWI. It was sold as war surplus before going to a museum, then was restored to flying condition and went to another museum. Used by the Luftstreitkräfte in numbers, the D.XII had a slow rate of roll and handled clumsily compared to the Fokker D.VII.

On display at the Museum of Flight. This twin-seat Quiet Star was designed to operate as an observation aircraft to spot night-time activity. It was equipped with a night vision and infrared downward-facing periscope that was operated by the observer in the front seat. The Quiet Star was nearly silent, and this aircraft, one of only 11 built served in Vietnam from 1970-72.

Replica completed in 1992 that is on display at the Museum of Flight. This Nieuport of l'escadrille N 62 is painted as "Zigomar 5" that was flown by French ace Paul Tarascon, known as "l'as la jambe de bois" or the ace with the wooden leg, who finished the war with 12 victories.

This Spitfire was built at Castle Bromwich in 1944 and participated in D-Day. After the war, it served with the Royal Netherlands Air Force and Belgian Air Force. It was brought to the USA in 1964 and came into private ownership. On display at the Museum of Flight, it wears the code '5J-Z' of No. 126 Squadron RAF.

"O'Reilly's Daughter" at the Museum of Flight. This P-40N has a low flight time of only 60 hours. It is painted in the markings of 1LT Philip E. Colman of the 26th FS, 5th FG, Chinese-American Composite Wing. Successor to the Flying Tigers and the China Air Task Force (CATF), the CACW was formed in Jul 1943 by Gen C. Chennault and equipped with the new P-40N. It comprised of American and Chinese pilots who trained at Karachi, India. CACW formed part of the 14th Air Force in the CBI theatre. At 378 mph the N was the fastest Warhawk after the plane was lightened and the rear canopy squared off.
