In the 1937 King's Cup held at Hatfield on September 10th, Tommy Rose flew G-ADGP into 10th place at an average speed of 185.00 mph. The Aeroplane for 22 September 1937 also reported that Rose gave a really good show with the black and white Speed Six at the Eastbourne Flying Club's Display at Wilmington aerodrome earlier in the month - the colour quoted in the report confirming that this was G-ADGP.

In its final pre-war form after modifications by George Miles for owner Luis Fontes. Including a modified cabin top and rear deck formers, together with a modified elevator con rod, aileron lever, con rod link plates and seat bearer. The airframe was then completely resprayed in black and white and the first flight after these modifications was made by George Miles on 16 May 1939, with further flights being made on May 18th, 23rd and 26th.

Not many advanced aircraft made it to the start of the 1934 London - Melbourne race, and even fewer to the finish. New Zealanders McGregor and Johnnie Walker were able to take fifth place in the speed race in this new, but fairly modest machine. Not many advanced aircraft made it to the start of the 1934 London - Melbourne race, and even fewer to the finish. New Zealanders McGregor and Johnnie Walker were able to take fifth place in the speed race in this new, but fairly modest machine.
