Operated by Marshall Airways as a private ambulance service taking medical specialists from Sydney to rural New South Wales and bringing patients to Sydney. The service continued until VH-UVL was impressed by the Australian air force in 1942 as A41-2. It was broken up the following year. The fuselage survived and was restored over the 1990s, flying again in 2000.

Built in Canada in 1947, this Fox Moth was owned by a number of operators before Maxwell Ward (founder of Wardair Inc., a private Canadian airline company) purchased it in the 1980s. Ward had the aircraft repainted to match the markings of his first Fox Moth that he had bought in 1946 and used for his first company, Polaris Charter Company. The original CF-DJB was destroyed in a crash after a few years of use.

VH-UAL was being flown over the water near Carlisle Island on August 1, 1968 when a downdraught caused it to hit the surface. The parts were acquired for use in the rebuilt of VH-UUL. This aircraft was largely destroyed by a bushfire near Canberra in 1979. The fuselage was saved and had been restored again when in 2021 floodwaters swamped its hangar at Murwillumbah. How much of VH-UAL remains in existence is not known. Peter Ricketts photo

Used on their Flying Doctor contract and also on scheduled services. Impressed by the RAAF in 1942 as A41-2. Used in New Guinea but 'scrapped' in 1943. One of Tony Haig-Thomas's collection of airworthy de Havilland Moth types which participated in the display. One of its last appearances before being repainted in a black and gold colour scheme. Struck by Musketeer G-AYWS at Old Warden on 17th July 1982 and destroyed by fire. This prompted the closing of the cross-runway to visiting aircraft. The remains were subsequently recreated by Ben and Jan Cooper and the aircraft was resident in Germany in 2025.

This aircraft was destroyed on 17th July 1982 whilst it was parked at Old Warden when Beech Musketeer G-AYWS crashed upon it whilst taking off and both were consumed in the ensuing fire, sadly the 2 occupants of the Musketeer were killed. Thankfully the Fox Moth was the subject of an epic restoration by Ben and Jan Cooper at the Newbury Aeroplane Company and is now based in Germany with the Luftraum Sud collection at Aalen.

This VH-UVL has been given the same constructor's number as the original Fox Moth VH-UVL. That aircraft was impressed into the RAAF during World War II and scrapped in New Guinea in 1943. The new VH-UVL uses a fuselage made in New Zealand in the 1990s but has been registered as c/n 4015.

Sold in the US as N83DH in July 1975. Returned to the NZ register as ZK-ADI in February 1997. ZK-ADI was its original pre-WW2 registration, The aircraft impressed by the RNZAF. As was normally the case in NZ, it was allocated a new civil registration when demobbed in 1948. Bob Kerr photo
