VH-UAL was being flown over the water near Carlisle Island on August 1, 1968 when a downdraught caused it to hit the surface. The parts were acquired for use in the rebuilt of VH-UUL. This aircraft was largely destroyed by a bushfire near Canberra in 1979. The fuselage was saved and had been restored again when in 2021 floodwaters swamped its hangar at Murwillumbah. How much of VH-UAL remains in existence is not known. Peter Ricketts photo This photo was added on 13 July 2025, and has since been viewed 29 times. |
